Slow Going

Moss in the mix here.

The poem "Commuter Pew" once lived here, and has relocated––to the chapbook Muse in a Suitcase.
The moss chose to stay.

Soliloquy

Emptied Nest

Well, they are gone, and here must I remain
- unfettered, unfeathered of sleepy tawny heads
grown captive to the wildness whence they came.
Well, they are gone, and here must I remain
with memorabilia that bestow a private fame.
Rooms I pass ask if all is well and done and said.
Well, they are gone, and here must I remain
- unfettered, unfeathered of sleepy tawny heads.

(Opening line is taken from "This Lime-tree Bower my Prison" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.)

Making an Impression

Soft Palette

The momentum of water lilies
is round, a resplendent haze
of emergent lucidities.
The momentum of water lilies,
repeating morning reveilles,
underscores Monet’s matinees.
The momentum of water lilies
is round, a resplendent haze.

Triolet

Venice

For a tourist walking a map
believing in a destination
maze of cobblestone lures and traps
for a tourist walking a map
short film of masks, tassels, glass wraps
into kaleidoscopic friction
for a tourist walking a map
believing in a destination
