Hang Out With the Authors of Serious Fun

Join me September 19, 5:00 pm ET, for the virtual book launch of Serious Fun: Poets of "Next Line, Please"! That's correct, you can hang out at home, like Freya pictured here, while we regale you with poetry.

Our poets are located in different U.S. states, as well as internationally, so this is how we gather together to celebrate with you and each other. The "Next Line, Please" poetry community is dear to my heart… it got me started on sharing my writing publicly in 2014.

Save the date! Link will be posted here a few days prior.  Update: Link is by invitation. Comment here with your request to join or

Local Bookstores

What could be more enticing for a reader than an independent brick-and-mortar bookstore? Maybe a library. Both venues are community based... your locals, so to speak. And, they can feature local authors.

I straddle two communities: one is the Washington, DC area and the other is the Lost River, West Virginia area. That may sound like quite a straddle, but I'm not alone in dividing time between the two. You can find one (or more) of my books for sale at People's Book in Takoma Park, Maryland and at WordPlay in Wardensville, West Virginia. How does a local author get support from a local bookstore? By asking to consign at their store. If you have suggestions of other places, let me know. There's nothing quite like browsing books, picking one up and getting the feel of it. Enjoy your summer reading!

Cheers,
Charise
