Excursion
Transported by train from Paris to Giverny anticipation
brought me this far though my sister made the invitation
for a foray into France, she, the keen photographer,
settles on a bud or a shade, maybe she'll wallpaper
a room with what Monet seeded; we’re circling
around the pond with a gait befitting
a cloister, as if we are spying
a leftover paradise pulsing
with perfume, exulting
