Form of Invention

Billy Collins, U.S. Poet Laureate, invented the "paradelle", a poetry form that may entice or may dissuade you to try. I've been enticed, and here is a sampling.

A Stone’s Throw

In a swathe of wonder.
In a swathe of wonder.
I keep my gaze.
I keep my gaze.
My keep of wonder
I swathe in a gaze.

Reference the horizon.
Reference the horizon.
How it escapes me.
How it escapes me.
Reference the me,
how it escapes horizon.

This wash of night.
This wash of night.
Forgives all shadows.
Forgives all shadows.
This wash of shadows
forgives all night.

All reference escapes in a gaze.
How I keep the wash
of my wonder
− it forgives this horizon
of shadows.
Night, swathe me.
